Business Insider provides a cool look at how BMW makes the X7 in its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, BMW's largest global production plant. One part that stood out for me is that there's over a dozen stages for painting the X7.

All of this is cool but having experienced paint issues with past BMW's, I will be analyzing the X7's.
If you don't mind me asking, what issues have you had with BMW's paint?

Excessive orange peel but I can deal with that on my own. Still sucks to have it.
Actual issues have been peeling/flaking paint.

Hopefully you never had to deal with that.

Oh that's rough, sorry to hear that. Hopefully BMW gets its act together.

I've had my E39 for around 10 years and I've had a couple of chips, as yo be expected with an older car, but I wouldn't say it's been peeling.
