As BMW continues work on the X7, its big full-size SUV, Audi continues to work on theirs as well. Here we have some spy shots of the Audi Q7 which will be one of the main competitors to the BMW X7.
The new Audi Q7 appears to be less round than its predecessor. There also seems to be a shorter rear overhang and a more angular tailgate.
Audi has confirmed that the Q7 will ride on the MLB Evo platform and be lighter than its predecessor. Some reports say the model could lose up to 800 lbs.
As far as engines go, the Q7 will likely get a six- and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel units. There could also be an entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI and a fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid variant.
Audi plans to introduce the next-generation Q7 by the end of 2015.
